So, after all this time I am back to blogging. And, if I 'm being honest, I have to say I am excited about that fact! There really hasn't been any changes since our last posts. We still have the same kids, their biological mother is still a flake. She still misses visits and it still upsets Adam. But it upsets him a lot less than it used to. The tiny titan is not so tiny anymore. I wish I could post tons of pics of them but I am not really allowed to. Micah is out of school for summer break and I am glad to have him around! He has entered the 'cheesy joke telling' stage, so we laugh a lot around here!
We had a court date coming up but that has been pushed out AGAIN so no new news there.
I do have some super awesome news ( super awesome to me, anyway) My FANTASTIC spouse bought me a mini van! Oh yes, I AM excited about my mini van. Gone are the days of trying to fit a ton of stuff into a tiny car, with three car seats across the back seat! Plus it is a super nice mini van. I have leather seats ( heated for when its cold), a moon roof, and power everything. I love it!
We have been asked to help organize the foster parenting movement within our church, and have also been asked to be mentors to new foster parents within our licensing agency. We are looking forward to our new responsibilities and excited to be helping others take this big step in their lives. Because remember the magic happens outside your comfort zone ( see diagram) :
Now a quick update on my monsters...
Mighty monster ( Micah) just graduated from the 1st grade and he got all A's and B's on his report card! I am very proud. He is also reading well above grade level, and looking forward to football in the fall. ( Especially if his Daddy is going to coach the team again)
Middle Monster has been doing pretty good too. He is learning his alphabet and had (finally) mastered his colors. He is also getting really good at counting. He has his blue days still when his visits get cancelled and even some days that they don't. I guess he has been VERY naughty for his bio mom and loves telling her that she can't tell him what to do. He also enjoys throwing the food she brings him onto the floor. He can be rowdy for me too, though. Not like how he is with her, cause that wouldn't end well for him, but still not what I would consider 'good' behavior. With the help of his counselor I am sure we will get through it.
Mini monster is thriving! She is still smaller than most kids her age but she is so smart! She can sing the alphabet, twinkle twinkle little star, and the song her daddy made up for her. She is potty training and she has been "reading" books a lot lately. She can count to 3 and she speaks in 3-4 word sentences, which most people don't get to hear since she is so shy, but she talked to her doctor and he was FLOORED. He said babies this young can't talk like she does. Lee, being a baby, does not care what the doctor says babies her age can't do.
That's all for today. Thanks for reading, and I should be posting again soon.
